Tui Na / An Mo:Tui Na and An Mo are traditional forms of remedial/medical massage.Tui Na employs techniques of pushing (Tui) and pulling (Na) the meridian/energy lines of the body. Acupressure points are stimulated to activate varying therapeutic responses in the body. Many forms of illness respond well to this form of medical massage. An Mo is a similar core modality of Chinese medical therapy. This branch of the healing art employs more joint manipulation and motility/range of motion techniques. It has a strong effect on the myofacial component of the musculoskeletal system. It is often used in conjuction with Tui Na to treat all forms of pain and illness in the body. Cupping & MoxibustionCupping and moxibustion are often employed in conjunction with the above-mentioned hands-on therapies.Cupping employs the use of glass cups that attach to areas of the body presenting with pain and stagnation. It is also commonly used to relieve general muscles tension and the signs and symptoms of the common cold. There is often a characteristic red/purplish bruising on the body following this form of treatment. Moxibustion employs the use of ignited mugwart herb in safe and bound sticks.
